Child Care Nurse Consultants

Child Care Nurse Consultants (CCNC) are registered Nurses who provide on-site consultation, training, and technical assistance to early childhood care and education providers. Child care and early education businesses may call or send questions to a CCNC about health and safety policies, health programs, health of personnel, and specific child health or safety issues.

CCNC SERVICES

• Educates child care providers and parents on health and safety issues
• Assists child care providers and center directors in developing health and safety policies
• Assists child care providers to achieve and maintain a safe and healthy child care environment for all children, including those with special needs, through site visits, health and safety assessments, resource materials and consultations
• Provides educational programs to children in child care on health and safety topics
• Collaborates with other local and regional service providers to enhance total services available for child care providers, children 0-5 years that attend child care sites and their parents
