Women, Infant, and Child Nutrition (WIC)
WIC is a supplemental nutrition program that provides nutritious foods such as milk, cheese, eggs, cereal and infant formula at no cost to families with pregnant women or young children.  Through this program the families also receive nutritional counseling from trained dieticians and referrals for health care.  Income guidelines must be met for eligibility in the program.  Additional information can be found at www.idph.state.ia.us/wic.

The Johnson County Public Health staff comes to the Washington County WIC clinics four days per month. Appointments can be made by calling Johnson County WIC at 319-356-6042.

Inclement weather policy: Washington County WIC clinics will be cancelled when their local schools are closed due to inclement weather. Clients are encouraged to listen to local news broadcasts or KCII radio to hear of school closings.  Clients will not be contacted individually.

During inclement weather when schools are not closed but travel advisories are issued, clients are encouraged to call the WIC office at 319-356-6042 to re-schedule appointments and discuss alternative ways to obtain WIC checks.
